The "Ampertaine' Map (date??)
During renovations, some 20 years ago a map of the Upperlands area, on beetled linen, was discovered in the attic of Ampertaine Primary School.
Donated to the Visitor centre for safe keeping, it is now a prized item, highly visible upon entry.
We have no details of when it was made, who made it, which class of pupils etc. etc.
It is glorious in its simplicity, its colours and its "home-spunness'.
Although all we want you to do is enjoy this locally produced gem, we would dearly love to hear from you if you were in the Ampertaine class that made it!
