This free digital guide lets you learn about our world-class collection of modern and contemporary sculpture like never before. It’s a wonderful way to find out more about our artworks – either while you’re visiting in person, or virtually. Our curators and artists share new content on the app to really bring the outdoor sculptures to life. This way, you can discover more about artworks from the artists who made them, in their own words. A very special area of the app – Perspectives – gives you a unique opportunity to hear from artists YSP has worked with over the years. Listen to them talk about their favourite works by other artists and why they connect with them. In sound and video, they reveal how they see and respond to the works from their own particular viewpoint. For those using the app onsite, every work at YSP has a 'Lookup' number displayed nearby. Use this number to easily find the work as you walk around the grounds, and discover sculpture at your own pace. Each artwork is enhanced by photos through the seasons, a summary and an artist biography. Curated walking routes are available for those wanting a little more guidance. There are short and longer routes for wheelchair users and those with prams, as well as a half day or full day walk depending on how long you spend at YSP. You’ll also find behind the scenes photos of the making of some of YSP's much-loved site-specific works, including Andy Goldsworthy's Hanging Trees and James Turrell's Deer Shelter Skyspace.
